Spiced Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can peaches, drain and save syrup
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 sticks cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. allspice (in bag)
    2 whole cloves (for each peach half)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, vinegar, salt, cinnamon, allspice (in a bag) all together.
    Mix well.
    Bring to boil.
    Boil for 5 minutes.
    Stick two whole cloves in each peach half.
    Add peach halves to hot spiced syrup.
    Simmer 5 minutes.
    Cool, covered.
    Chill 24 hours. Remove spices.
