Red Chinese Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (1 inch) slices ginger root
    2 cloves anise
    1/2 cinnamon stick
    1 tsp. peppercorns
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1/4 c. sherry
    1/4 c. sesame oil
    1 whole chicken
Preparation
    Combine first seven ingredients and pour over poultry that has been placed in a Dutch oven.
    Baste 2 to 3 times while baking. Bake at 350\u00b0 covered for one hour.
