English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 c. chopped nuts
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate bits or several Hershey bars
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Melt butter.
    Add sugar. Stir until blended. Add 1 1/2 cups nuts. Stir/cook until pulls away from sides of pan.
    Add cream of tartar. Stir vigorously. Cook until pinkish tan color.
    Pour onto buttered cookie sheet. Sprinkle chocolate. Spread when melted. Sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts on top.
