Holiday Fruit Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or oleo
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 lb. miniature marshmallows
    1/2 lb. graham cracker crumbs
    1/2 lb. candied pineapple, chopped
    1/2 lb. candied cherries, chopped
    1 1/2 lb. chopped nuts
    1 c. flaked coconut
    1/2 lb. light raisins
Preparation
    Peel onions and slice round.
    Sprinkle salt on each slice. Place in containers in layers; cover with sweet milk.
    Let soak for 2 or 3 hours.
    Drain off milk; dip each slice in flour and drop in hot fat.
    Have fat deep enough to cover slices and don't fry too fast.
    Handle carefully so as not to tear them up.
