Chocolate Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 sq. bitter chocolate, melted
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs.
Add melted chocolate.
Sift flour, soda and salt.
Add alternately in small quantities with buttermilk.
Add vanilla. Bake in 2 (9-inch) pans at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
Ice with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, flavored with coffee.
Decorate with shaved chocolate.
