Prune Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. cooked prunes, pitted and drained
Preparation

Sift together first 7 ingredients.
In a large bowl mix Crisco, sugar and eggs.
Mix for 1 1/2 minutes.
Add prunes.
Add sifted flour mixture alternately with 1 cup buttermilk.
Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Pour batter into two 9-inch layer cake pans, greased and floured.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes.
Remove from pans and cool.
Frost with Buttermilk Icing.
