Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. milk
    2 eggs, beaten
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    3 slices day old bread, cubed
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    In mixing bowl, beat together milk, eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla extract.
    Stir in cubed bread.
    Pour mixture into 1-quart baking dish, greased with vegetable shortening or oil.
    Sprinkle nutmeg over top.
    Put 1-inch of hot water in a large pan and set filled baking dish in it.
    Bake 1 hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
    Serve hot or cold.
