Spiced Beef Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. margarine
    2 lb. beef stew meat, cubed
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 c. onions, thinly sliced
    1/2 tsp. garlic, minced
    1 (16 oz.) can mixed vegetables, drained
    1 tsp. thyme, dried
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 c. water
    1 (12 oz.) can beef broth
Preparation
    Melt margarine in skillet; brown beef. Add flour and mix well. Add onions, garlic, spices, sugar, water and broth.
    Place casserole dish in 350\u00b0 oven. Cook 1 1/2 hours until meat is tender, adding mixed vegetables 15 minutes before completion. Remove whole bay leaf and serve.
