Country Market Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. mixed dry peas and beans, washed, sorted and drained
    3 qt. water
    1 (11.5 oz.) can V-8 juice
    1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1 chicken bouillon cube
    3 Tbsp. Bac*Os
    2 Tbsp. parsley
    1 c. each chopped onion and celery
    2 cloves of garlic
Preparation
    Boil bean mixture gently in remaining ingredients for 3 to 4 hours, adding water, if necessary.
    Stir occasionally.
    Add salt and pepper, if desired.
    Serve with rice and cornbread.
    Serves 26.
