Fiesta Banana Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
    1 c. mashed, ripe bananas
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Measure flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar into sifter.
    Place shortening in mixing bowl; stir to soften.
    Sift in dry ingredients.
    Add 1/4 cup milk and mashed bananas.
    Mix until flour is dampened.
    Beat 2 minutes in mixer at low speed or 300 vigorous strokes by hand.
    Add the eggs, vanilla, nuts and remaining milk.
    Beat 1 minute more.
