Half-A-Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/2 c. cake flour
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream the sugar, butter and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine cake flour and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add milk and beat 5 minutes.
    Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
    Yields 1 loaf.
