Washboards - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1/4 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Preparation

Cream shortening.
Add sugar gradually and cream.
Blend in eggs.
Add soda to milk; blend into mixture.
Add coconut and vanilla; mix well.
Add flour, salt and baking powder.
Drop onto cookie sheet; flatten with fork.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
