Orange Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    juice of 1 orange (save rind)
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. sour milk
    1 1/8 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. raisins
Preparation
    In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup sugar and juice from orange. Set aside.
    Reserve orange rind.
    In second bowl, cream together 1 cup sugar, salt and shortening. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir. Add sour milk (or 1 tablespoon vinegar in sweet milk).
    Sift in flour and baking soda.
    Grind together orange rind and raisins.
    Mix into batter.
    Bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven.
    Punch many holes with a toothpick all over the top of the cake. Spoon sugar and juice mixture over top. Serve with whipped topping or as is.
