Cheese Daisies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 sticks butter
1 1/2 c. grated cheese (New York sharp cheese)
1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
1/8 tsp. red pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted with pepper and salt
Preparation

Cream butter and cheese (with hand).
Gradually blend in flour mixture.
Roll pastry into long roll and wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate for at least 1/2 hour or freeze.
Cut into slices (1/3-inch for olives and cocktail sausages).
For sausages, press with heel of hand into elongated oval and wrap around sausage. For olives (large ones are best), press pastry slice into cup shape and wrap around olive, leaving pimiento end exposed.
The original recipe suggests pressing a pecan half into each slice.
