Lana'S Magic Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. soda

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a large (tall) saucepan and mix well.
Cook to soft-ball stage, stirring constantly, and remove from heat.
Beat until creamy and thick enough to spread.
