Hot Water Pie Crust - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. shortening or butter (my mother used lard)
    3 c. sifted plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over shortening; beat until smooth.
    Cool. Sift flour and salt in.
    Mold into a soft dough.
