Picante Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

16 c. tomatoes, peeled and chopped (fresh, frozen or canned)
1 c. jalapeno or hot peppers (more or less to taste)
1 scant c. sugar
1/3 c. canning salt
2 tsp. black pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
4 c. chopped onions
2 c. white vinegar
3 Tbsp. garlic salt
1 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
Preparation

Blend all ingredients.
Cook for 1 1/2 hours, uncovered, stirring often.
Pour into hot jars; seal.
Process in hot water bath for 35 minutes.
Yields 10 pints.
