Orange Date Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. flour
    1/3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1 grated orange rind
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. chopped dates
    1 egg
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except egg.
    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
    Add beaten egg.
    Stir and cook 3 minutes.
    Cool before spreading.
    Use between layers of plain cake; top with white frosting.
    May sprinkle with coconut.
