Son-In-Law'S Favorite Banana Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. flour
    1 (14 oz.) can evaporated milk plus 1 2/3 c. water
    3 eggs, separated
    dash of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 lb. pkg. vanilla wafers
    4 bananas, sliced
Preparation
    Combine sugar and flour in top of double boiler.
    Blend in milk,
    a
    small
    amount
    at
    a time.
    Add 1 2/3 cups water. Cook, stirring
    to
    a boil.
    Beat egg yolks.
    Add egg yolks to hot mixture,
    stirring\tconstantly.
    Add
    salt\tand
    vanilla; remove from
    heat.
    Cool custard for about 10 minutes.
    Layer half the wafers, half of the bananas and the custard in dish. Repeat layers, ending with wafers.
