Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    5 Tbsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 oz. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. cream or 1 (14 oz.) can evaporated milk, chilled
    1 1/2 qt. whole milk
Preparation
    Beat eggs well.
    Gradually add sugar and vanilla to the eggs, beating well again.
    Mix separately, according to package directions, 1 package instant vanilla pudding.
    Combine egg and sugar mixture, pudding mixture, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 2 cups cream (or evaporated milk).
    Add enough whole milk (approximately 1 1/2 quarts) to fill a 1-gallon ice cream freezer can to the 3/4 full level.
    Place can in freezer tub and crank until hardened.
    Makes 1 gallon of ice cream.
