Rivel Cake (Coffee) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. brown or granulated sugar
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. lard and butter or all lard (suppose Crisco or oleo, etc., can be used)
    salt
Preparation
    Mix and squeeze lightly in fist (the lumps are the rivels) and then break into pieces and put into a pie plate.
    Place pieces (about the size of a small walnut or hickory nut) in a square pan and bake at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 until lightly brown or slightly hard. Serve in a cereal dish with hot coffee poured over it (seasoned as desired with milk and sugar).
