Gumdrop Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 c. mashed potatoes
    3/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. cocoa
    4 egg yolks
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. raisins or dates
    1 c. sweet milk
    1 c. walnuts or pecans
    1 c. gumdrops, diced
    1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Mix sugar and butter.
    Add egg yolks.
    Sift and add dry ingredients.
    Add potatoes.
    Alternate, adding milk and flour.
    Add cooked raisins and gumdrops.
    Fold in well beaten egg whites.
    Bake in a moderate oven, either in layer pans, or tube, 1 1/2 hours or until done.
