Baked Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. whole milk
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 whole eggs
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Scald milk in the top of a double boiler; cool slightly.
    Beat eggs thoroughly.
    Add salt, sugar and vanilla.
    Pour slowly into the hot milk, stirring constantly.
    Pour into a 10 x 5 x 3-inch glass baking dish.
    Set the dish in a slightly larger pan with 1 inch of water in the bottom.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until a silver knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
    Serves 8.
