Honey Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. honey
    1 egg, well beaten
    2/3 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. quick cooking oatmeal
    1 c. coconut
    1/2 c. nutmeats
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix ingredients in order given.
    Spread in 9 x 13-inch cake pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    A thin powdered sugar frosting may be drizzled on top. Cut while warm.
    The bars will be crispy when first baked, but will be softer when they have set awhile.
