Plantation Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cream of tartar, salt and milk.\tStir over low heat until sugar dissolves.
    Cook until soft ball stage.
    Cool. Add butter or oleo, vanilla and pecans.
    Beat until creamy.
    Drop from large spoon onto buttered surface or waxed paper.
    Yield 1 1/2-2 dozen.
    Very good.
