Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 c. seedless raisins
1 c. water
1 c. vegetable shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. uncooked quick oats
Preparation

Sift flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg onto wax paper.
Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan.
Bring to boiling.
Remove from heat. Cover. Cool to room temperature.
Beat shortening and sugar well. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Blend flour mixture into shortening mixture until smooth. Add cooled raisins and liquid and oats.
Mix well. Cover bowl. Chill at least 1 hour.
