Easy Breakfast Muffins - cooking recipe

5 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
6 Tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 c. sugar, mixed with 1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Cream the shortening and first 1/2 cup sugar thoroughly.
Add eggs and mix well. Add other dry ingredients alternately with milk. Fill greased muffin tins half full.
Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Take out of pan immediately. Dip tops in melted butter, then in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Makes 12 muffins.
