Oatmeal Crisps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. quick-cooking oatmeal
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars with mixer.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Beat well.
    Sift together flour, salt and baking soda and add to creamed mixture; beat.
    With a wooden spoon, stir in oatmeal and nuts.
    Form dough into a roll on waxed paper.
    Wrap and chill thoroughly.
