Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1 c. yellow corn meal (self-rising)
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. sweet milk
1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 (No. 303) can cream-style corn
1/4 c. bacon drippings
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 to 3/4 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne)
Preparation

Saute beef and drain on paper towels.
Combine meal, eggs, milk, corn and bacon drippings.
Grease large iron skillet; heat. Sprinkle with a light layer of meal and brown slightly.
Put half of meal mixture in skillet.
Layer with cheese, meat, onions and pepper.
Pour remaining batter on top.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
