Famous Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1 c. white syrup
1/2 c. water
1/8 tsp. salt
2 egg whites
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Place sugar, syrup, water and salt in pan. Cook over medium heat until a little dropped in cold water will form a hard ball. Beat egg whites until stiff while syrup is cooking.
Pour mix into egg whites, beating continuously.
Add vanilla and beat until it loses its glossy look. Add pecans and pour onto buttered platter or drop by spoon on waxed paper. Garnish with pecan halves.
