Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. milk
    3 c. quick cooking oats
    1 c. raisins (optional)
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Stir together the flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    In large mixing bowl, beat shortening for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar; beat until light and fluffy.
    Beat in eggs.
    Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
    Stir in oats, raisins and nuts.
    Drop from a spoon onto ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 8 minutes, or until barely brown.
