Southern Cornbread - cooking recipe

2 1/2 c. meal
1 egg
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
4 Tbsp. Crisco
Preparation

Hand mix meal and egg.
Add buttermilk until thin consistency. Put Crisco and 1 pinch of meal in a skillet.
Cook in oven at 450\u00b0 until Crisco melts and meal turns a light golden brown.
Pour 1/2 cup of melted Crisco into cornbread mixture.
Hand mix.
Pour into skillet of melted Crisco.
Cook mixture at 450\u00b0 until dark golden brown.
