Kraut Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15-oz.) can Bavarian kraut, drained
    1/4 c. diced celery
    1 medium jar sliced pimento, drained
    1/2 c. diced bell pepper
    1/2 c. diced onion
    1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained (optional)
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Heat vinegar, oil and sugar until sugar dissolves. Pour over salad ingredients and toss until well coated. Refrigerate at least 3 hours.
