Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 hen
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. melted shortening or Wesson oil
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 to 1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Cook chicken and remove from bone.
    Mix flour, baking powder, shortening and egg; add milk slowly up to 1/2 cup, until right consistency.
    Roll out thin; cut in strips.
    Drop slowly in boiling chicken broth so boiling does not stop.
    Cook until tender.
    Leave chunks of chicken in broth, if desired.
