Tender Swiss Steak(Or Round) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) round steak
    1 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. cooking oil
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
Preparation
    Trim excess fat from meat and remove bone.
    Cut meat in pieces for easier handling.
    Mix salt, pepper and flour; sprinkle over meat.
    Pound seasonings into both sides of meat.
    In heavy skillet, quickly brown meat on both sides in hot oil.
    Add small amount of water to prevent scorching.
    Pour mushroom soup over meat (you may leave some plain, if desired).
    Cover and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours, depending on the thickness of the steak.
    Makes about 8 servings.
