Mom'S Lima Bean Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lima beans
    1 onion, grated
    2 to 3 large carrots
    2 to 3 stalks celery
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 cloves garlic, pressed
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Soak lima beans overnight or 2 days.
    Grate carrots and slice celery.
    Put all ingredients in crock-pot.
    Add water to cover beans.
    Cook all day.
    Add water when needed.
