Sausage Cassoulet A La Steuben - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 lb. Polish sausage, sliced
    1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage, sliced
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (54 oz.) can pork and beans
    1/4 c. white wine (beer may be substituted for camp cooking)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    2 pinches rosemary
    1 small bay leaf
Preparation
    Heat butter in large skillet and saute sausages.
    Remove from skillet and drain, reserving 1 tablespoon fat.
    Saute onion and garlic in fat until soft.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Mix in sausages.
    Simmer 15 minutes or longer.
