Grandma Stolley'S Frikadellen(Meatballs) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 onion, diced
    1 carrot, shredded
    1 roll or 2 slices bread
    1 egg
    nutmeg, salt and pepper
Preparation
    Soak roll in water; squeeze out excess water and mix well with remaining ingredients.
    Shape mixture into round patties about 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
    Brown on both sides in hot shortening.
    Set aside.
    Drain grease from skillet and make brown gravy (can use envelope of brown gravy mix if desired).
    Return meatballs to the gravy and simmer for 15 minutes.
