Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 eggs
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2 bottles red food coloring
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs; beat until fluffy.
Make paste of food coloring and cocoa.
Add to butter mixture.
Mix flour and salt.
Add to mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Add vanilla and mix well.
Mix vinegar and soda (this will foam).
Add to batter and gently stir until well mixed.
Pour into 2 or 3 cake pans and bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
