Sausage And Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 Spy apples
    1/4 c. melted butter
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    24 small sausage links
Preparation
    Wash and core apples.
    Do not peel.
    Cut apples in eighths. Coat the apples with the melted butter and add Karo syrup. Mix spices with brown sugar and add to the apple/butter/Karo mixture. Place them in a flat casserole dish and bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until apples have a glazed appearance.
    It is better to make this dish a few hours ahead of time and let them stand in the liquid to enhance their flavor.
    Cook (fry) sausage links, then place them upon the apples and return all to the oven to reheat for serving.
