Broccoli With Soy Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chicken stock or consomme
    2 tsp. cornstarch
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    2 lb. broccoli
    1/4 c. salad oil
Preparation
    Make a sauce by cooking the chicken stock with the cornstarch which has been rubbed smooth in about 2 tablespoons cold water. Cook, stirring, until thickened.
    Add the soy sauce.
    Wash the broccoli thoroughly and cut off the flowery tops.
    Slice the stems at a slant in pieces about 1/2-inch thick.
    Measure the oil into a heavy saucepan or skillet.
    Add the stems; cook for about 5 minutes, stirring.
    Add the tops, cut in small pieces; cook 5 minutes more.
    Pour the thickened sauce over the broccoli.
    Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
    Remove the cover and cook 4 minutes.
    Try this with roast pork.
