2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
4 egg whites
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 recipe Lemon Satin Icing or other
