Harriett'S Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked 9-inch pie shell
    1 qt. fresh strawberries
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. strawberry jello
    several drops red cake coloring
Preparation
    Wash strawberries; drain.
    I pat them dry with paper towels. Cook water, sugar and cornstarch until thickened.
    Remove from stove.
    Add strawberry jello and red cake coloring.
    Pour over strawberries; mix well.
    Pour into the baked pie shell. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
    Before serving, top with Cool Whip.
