Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. molasses
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. each: cloves, ginger and cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. hot water
Preparation

Cream the butter and sugar; add egg and molasses, mixing well. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to first mixture.
Add hot water and beat until smooth.
