Hot Buttered Rum - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. apple cider or juice
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/2 c. dark rum
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    4 Tbsp. butter
    4 cinnamon sticks
    1 Tbsp. minced crystallized ginger or 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
Preparation
    Combine apple cider, water, sugar and ginger in a microwavable bowl.
    Microwave on High until sugar dissolves and liquid begins to bubble, 8 to 10 minutes.
    Stir in rum and vanilla extract. Swirl in the butter.
    Serve hot with a cinnamon stick in each cup.
