Fried Potato Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cooked mashed potatoes (2 medium size baking potatoes)
    1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 large egg, lightly beaten
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. onion powder
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 large egg, lightly beaten
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
    1/4 to 1/2 c. vegetable oil
Preparation
    Combine first 7 ingredients. Shape into 6 (3/4-inch thick) patties. Dip each pattie in egg and coat lightly with bread crumbs. Fry patties in hot oil in a large skillet over medium heat, 12 minutes or until lightly browned, turning once. Drain on paper towels.
