Fresh Apple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. coarsely chopped apples
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/2 c. margarine, melted
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. raisins (optional)
    1/2 c. nuts or more
Preparation
    Add sugar to peeled and chopped apples.
    Let stand 10 minutes. Stir in melted margarine and beaten egg.
    Blend.
    Add to apple mixture flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.
    Fold in raisins and nuts.
    Bake in 7 x 11-inch pan (greased) at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
    Serve plain or sprinkled with powdered sugar.
