Badger Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef, cubed
    1/2 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    3 c. chopped onion
    1 lb. carrots, sliced
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    3 c. beef stock or broth
    1 1/2 tsp. fines herbes
    1 (12 oz.) can beer
    2 bay leaves
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Coat cubes of beef in flour.
    Heat oil in large pan.
    Add meat and brown.
    Add other ingredients.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
    Add water as necessary.
    Serves 8.
