Seafood Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. okra, sliced
2 lb. shrimp, peeled
1 8-oz. can whole tomatoes
2 onions, chopped
1 1/2 qt. water
1 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 Tbsp. flour - heaping
1 1/2 Tbsp. cooking oil
1 bay leaf
1/8 tsp. thyme
Salt & pepper to taste
Preparation

Put oil in large pot and brown flour stirring constantly. Add onions, garlic and parsley and cook until seasonings are soft
Add peeled shrimp and cook until shrimp turns pink.
Add okra and keep stirring.
Cook another 5 minutes.
Add the can of tomatoes, then add about 1 1/2 quarts water.
Add bay leaf, thyme, salt and pepper.
Cook about 2 hours.
Serve over rice.
