Christmas Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 box raisins
2 Cups strong black coffee
3/4 Cup crisco
1 tsp. salt
2 Cups sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
4 Cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 Cup apple sauce
1 Cup chopped walnuts
1 large pkg. mixed fruits
1/2 Cup chopped maraschino cherries
Preparation

Combine raisins, coffee, crisco, salt, sugar, cinnamon and cloves in saucepan let simmer 5 minutes.
Let mixture cool.
When cool add flour, baking soda and baking powder and mix well.
Add to this mixture the apple sauce, walnuts, mixed fruits and maraschino cherries.
Bake in a greased tube pan for 1 hour at 350 or until golden brown.
When cake is cooled, pour wine or brandy over the top.
